Why the right ceiling matters on the Coast

Coastal fit outs deal with extra humidity, salt-laden air and the odd stormwater leak. A ceiling that is not specified for that stains, sags and turns into a maintenance job.

We use moisture-resistant tiles, corrosion-protected grids and acoustic panels where the room needs them, so the ceiling stays straight, quiet and clean.

Our process

Three stages, planned so light fittings, diffusers and access panels land where they should the first time.

  1. Measure and advise

We check ceiling height, services and moisture risk on site and recommend the right system for the room.

  2. Frame and grid

Levels are set out and corrosion-protected hangers and grid fixed to suit the site conditions.

  3. Panels and finish

Tiles or plasterboard go in, access points are placed, and the finish is ready for painting or the final fit out.

Suspended ceiling questions

Anything not covered here, call the office on (07) 3111 9888.

Which suspended ceiling suits my space?
Suspended plasterboard gives a paint-ready finish for most rooms. For bathrooms and coastal units choose moisture-resistant board or vinyl-faced tiles. Exposed grid acoustic tiles suit offices and areas where access to services is needed.
Will a suspended ceiling make the room feel lower?
A small drop is unavoidable, but a well planned ceiling keeps the room feeling open while improving the lighting and energy performance. We set the drop to meet NCC minimum heights and keep comfortable headroom.
How do your ceilings handle humidity and salt air?
We use corrosion-protected grid, moisture-rated panels and sealed junctions. On exposed coastal sites we specify materials and fixing methods that avoid staining and sagging over time.
Can you fit lighting, air conditioning and access panels?
Yes. We plan access panels, light cut-outs and AC diffusers up front to avoid cutting tiles later, and coordinate with your electrician and HVAC contractor on site.
How long does an install take?
Small installs are often done within a few days. Larger commercial fit outs take longer depending on size and service coordination. You get a clear timeline after the site measure.
Do you repair existing suspended ceilings?
Yes. We replace stained tiles, re-level sagging grids and upgrade to acoustic or moisture-resistant tiles where needed.
Are the ceilings compliant with fire and safety rules?
Yes. We supply and install systems that meet Australian Standards and local building requirements, and provide the documentation where needed. See fire rated systems.
