The solar farm on Yandina-Coolum Road
The Sunshine Coast Solar Farm is at 909 Yandina-Coolum Road, Valdora. Council says it is the first local government in Australia to build, own and operate its own solar farm.
The site has six large power conversion units and a power plant control room. The project began in 2013, was approved in 2015, was constructed in 2016 and has been operating since July 2017.
Valdora is a rural locality. The name comes from Val d'Ora, which means Golden Valley.
