A main street with history
Sunshine Coast Council's heritage history says the coming of the railway in 1891 marked the beginning of Yandina as a business centre, which by 1894 included several stores, butchers, a boarding house, a blacksmith and a hotel.
Many of the original buildings and the heritage streetscape of Stevens Street have been preserved.
The Yandina hotel dates back to 1889 and was relocated using rollers and a bullock team in 1891, when the railway came through town.
