Plastering in the Kulangoor valley

The eastern part of Kulangoor is a valley, about 30 to 40 metres above sea level. It is the developed part of the locality, with small farms and rural residential use, all freehold. The Bruce Highway forms the eastern boundary, with the Nambour Connection Road running beside it.

At the 2021 Census, Kulangoor had 455 people and 169 private dwellings. Of its occupied private dwellings, 144 (91.7%) were separate houses.

Forested west
The western part of the locality is mountainous and densely forested, with Mount Wappa and Mount Combe. Most of the north-western and western part is the Mapleton Conservation Park, and the south-western area is the Wappa State Forest.
The name
Kulangoor takes its name from its railway station, named on 11 April 1921 from the Kabi language word kalang, meaning good.
Lawn cemetery
The Kulangoor lawn cemetery, operated by the Sunshine Coast Regional Council, is at 31 - 89 Ackerman Road.

Nail pops and screw pops

Small round bumps or cracks in a ceiling can be fixings that have pushed through the surface. The fix is to re-secure the board with a new screw beside the old fixing, then fill, sand and paint the spot.

A patch can show through new paint, especially in a glossier finish, so repaint the whole surface, not just the patch.
