Plastering for hinterland homes

Yandina Creek is a rural locality in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. The Yandina-Coolum Road runs along its western boundary before crossing to the east.

Rural land
Sunshine Coast Council's proposed Yandina - Maroochy River Local Plan Area covers "more closely settled lowlands, rural and rural residential areas surrounding Yandina". Yandina Creek is listed among its localities, or parts of localities.
Local history
In 1949 the former Valdora State School building was moved to Yandina Creek and re-opened as Yandina Creek State School. It closed on 7 August 1964.

Storms, leaks and ceilings

Sunshine Coast Council lists steep and unstable land, bushfire, flooding and native vegetation among the constraints across the Yandina - Maroochy River Local Plan Area.

If a storm or leak has let water into a ceiling, find and fix the leak first. Plasterboard that has gone soft or started to sag needs to be cut out and replaced, not painted over.
